Impossible?...I'm Possible!
Hey this is Josh. I want to thank you all for your prayers. I am thankful the Lord has chosen to use people and relationships in these tough times to reveal himself. When I am out in public, whether I’m at Puritan Coffee or at a grocery store, people have been kind to stop to tell me they have been praying for me. I have been overwhelmed knowing people have not stopped praying for complete healing. These encounters with old and new friends are playing a major role in my recovery and I thank you. Please don't stop.
I want to share with you one very special relationship in particular. Her name is Kara. We met shortly after I moved to Buena Vista. On our first date I took her on an 8 mile hike and swam in an alpine lake! She has remained by my side ever since. She continues to believe and hope the best in me. I am thankful for the blessings the Lord has brought us and through these difficult times. Kara, you are the best inspiration.
"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the Lord; The humble will hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He answered me,
and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:1-4
Thanks!
Josh

For those that have spent time with Josh, you understand what we mean when we say, "Josh said..." Kelly and I both worked with Josh on this post over about a 10 day period. He can respond using his toes to answer yes and no questions or he will shake his head (that's new). He will also raise his leg in the air when he has something new to share and wants our attention. He is very specific about word choices sometimes working a half hour on a single sentence until we have it just the way he wants it. It is hard to explain but he has numerous friends who have been through this and can vouch for the process.
We believe Josh will be able to return to San Antonio for further therapy in May. In the mean time Hank Matthews is putting his smile back together next week! WooHoo! Thanks Hank! Josh will also be getting a Botox treatment the following week.
Answered Prayers:
Josh now meets on Face Time with his mentor, John Flowers, once a week. They are going through the book of Matthew.
Josh now attends a small group Bible study on Thursday nights!
Josh continues to meet online with his accountability group about every two weeks (most live out of town).
Josh Face Times with several friends and looks forward to his Face Time call from Kara each evening.
We are very thankful for the team that is working with him right now. They are really committed to his progress.
Prayer Requests:
Josh's return to San Antonio.
Josh is very dedicated to working on his speech. He practices vocalizing several times a day. Please keep this in your prayers.
We hope to be able to get one more round of hyperbaric therapy in before San Antonio.
We are now working on a handshake!
There were people early on that said all this was impossible...but Josh answered, I'm Possible!
"And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26
All in For Josh!
